Are You Ready for the California Motorcycle Permit Test?

California provides two classes of motorcycle license: M1 and M2. With an M1 license, you are allowed to ride any type of motorcycle with an attached motor, or any motorized scooter. An M2 classification allows you to drive a moped, a bicycle with an attached motor, a motorized bicycle, or a motorized scooter only.

Regardless of which type of license you apply for, the California DMV requires you to first pass the written motorcycle knowledge test.  To help you prepare for the exam, our experts have developed the California motorcycle permit practice test.   The practice test is designed to help you identify any areas where you may need a bit more studying.  The practice test contains 25 multiple-choice questions with each question having 4 possible answers. Correct answers will be shown in green while incorrect answers will be shown in red.  Answer a question incorrectly and you’ll get immediate feedback with a brief explanation.  Good luck!
