    You can apply for your Indiana Learner’s Permit when you are 15 years and 180 days old.

At 16 years and 180 days old, teens who have passed a driver education course can apply for a probationary license.     There are 24 questions on the test. You will also need to pass a 16-question road sign identification test.

  • How many questions must I answer correctly to pass?

    You must answer 80% or more of the written knowledge questions correctly to pass. You can only miss two sign identification questions and still pass.

  • What steps should I take to prepare for the test?
